Student Council
The International University in Geneva has a strong student council active in areas such as social activities, community service and advocacy. Weekly meetings are held to resolve student issues and to recommend and implement changes to the current student environment. Specific activities include preparing the annual yearbook, community service events with the United Nations and UNICEF, and cultural excursions in Switzerland and beyond.
Letter from the Student Council President:
Dear current and prospective students,
The IUG Student Council was formed by the students for the students, its primary role is to act as an intermediary between the students and the university. As such the Student Council is the voice for any concerns, recommendations and complaints students may have, but at the same time the Student Council also acts as a channel through which the university can reach the students. Our core activities include planning social events, raising money for our annual charity picked by the Student Council, representing the university through community service and helping shape the academic environment at the university through curriculum review meetings.
Students with a sound academic track record, initiative and enthusiasm are welcome to join. Once a year the student body elects the Student Council President while the other roles are voted upon internally in the Student Council. As a member you are able to influence not only the social happenings but the academic environment and university life, the ability to make a change for the better is a very rewarding and highly recommendable experience.

Student Council President 2010/2011
